Shriver Hall Concert Series

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 58^th season of Shriver Hall Concert Series! We’re looking forward to this new year of fantastic music and to sharing it with you, our fellow music lovers.

Anchored by two pillars of the repertoire—J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations and Franz Schubert’s Winterreise—the season is one of wonderful diversity. We welcome some extraordinary artists for important Baltimore debuts and others for eagerly anticipated returns. Alongside beloved gems of the repertoire, we present rarely heard works by composers such as Florence Price and Nadia Boulanger. Artists who transcend genre, like Billy Childs and Kurt Weill, grace our lineup, as does a new commission from Nokuthula Ngwenyama contemplating the natural world. This season’s artists and the programs they’ve curated exemplify the stylistic and emotional breadth of classical music today.

We urge you to take note of our free Discovery Series presented on Saturday afternoons at UMBC and the Baltimore Museum of Art. Now in its 18th season, this series is a wonderful way to meet some of the most exciting young artists emerging on the international scene. One of this year’s highlights is the Isidore String Quartet, the top-prize winner at last year’s Banff International String Quartet Competition, which has a season replete with important debuts across the globe.
